I Did the Work Scrolling Through Nordstrom—43 Buys I Couldn't Resist If I Tried

If you're looking for someone to tell you not to buy something, I'm probably not the best person to ask. And in the same way that I can far too easily justify your purchases, I'll find any way to excuse my own. It's a problem, I know, though it's not one that I'm exactly working on. Case in point: my latest online-shopping excursion on Nordstrom.com. After hours of scrolling through the retailer's new fall and winter arrivals, I've fully convinced myself that I don't just want the 43 pieces below—I need them. And I'm more than ready to convince you that you need them too.

Really, I don't think too much convincing will be necessary once you see them—perhaps just a little push—because in addition to being fall- and winter-ready, all of the hand-selected wardrobe items below are ridiculously good-looking. From It handbags by Staud, Saint Laurent, and Bottega Veneta to closet-building staples from Skims, Reformation, and Mango, I'm convinced that the selection ahead is utterly irresistible. Then again, *not* shopping was never my strong suit.

A gray sweater's as essential in the fall as 501s or a classic pair of black knee-high boots.

For layering, there's no better item than a white Skims tee. Period.

I'm obsessed with styling my black denim midi skirt with fishnet tights and tight black boots.

French fashion girls will be all over this Staud bag.

A timeless staple. Hint: Let this dress double as a slip skirt by tucking it into the waistline of some tights and hiding it with a structured, fitted top.

Basically every take on Tory Burch's pierced footwear from F/W 23 is sold out or about to be.

If it has contrast stitching on it in 2023, I guarantee that it's in one of my many shopping carts.

This is the next It sunglasses shape. Oversize, classy, and inspired by one of fashion's greats.

If you're looking for a holiday dress to wear again and again, this one's for you.

I know this is technically a vanity case, but I'll 1000% be wearing it as a purse without shame.

This shape of denim looks incredible on everyone. It's so interesting and cool.

My velvet obsession will never go away, not that I want it to.

I'll always buy another pair of Levi's. Always.

Pair the above knit with this silk maxi skirt for everything from work to Friendsgiving to a luxe holiday party.

Tie up this trench, and you can wear literally anything underneath. No one will care because the top layer's so chic.

If you've been eyeing the Khaite cardigan for months or years now but still can't justify the price, this $79 alt from Sanctuary should be at the top of your wish list this season.

The shape of this blazer is simply too good.

Is it just me, or are these the perfect combination of Bridgerton and Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy?

I just went to Tory Burch to try on this bag, and wow, it's even better IRL.

Fishnets make every outfit more interesting. Don't be afraid of them.

This satin button-up is the perfect autumn/winter replacement for your go-to poplin shirts.

Saint Laurent's making me want to bring back my XL aviators.

This coat has rich, Upper East Side mom written all over it. That, or chic Sciura lady.

These are elite for pulling off the dresses-with-pants trend.

Stiletto sock boots for under $150 dollars? You had me at hello.

I pretty much feel like if I don't own this coat, I'll be unhappy forever.

The color of the moment meets the bag of the moment. Perfect.

This coat is an investment, yes, but look at it. I've already thought of at least a dozen ways I could wear it with my existing wardrobe items.

Fashion girls all over the world are accessorizing with red sweaters rn.

I know everyone's wearing the white version, but these dove-gray pumps from Prada are my favorite between the two.

Wear this coat closed as a dress with fishnets à la Tory Burch. I promise you won't regret it.
